


Before the French route is imposed as a way of pilgrimage to Compostela, the main route was the province of Alava and spanning from the Puebla de Arganzón, exceeded Miranda de Ebro and Ameyugo where the Tower of Guevara and the Romanesque chapel San Juan, after crossing the gorge of Pancorbo, path of Bureba.
Pancorbo, Zuñeda-tower church and Moorish influences, and Grisaleña-old fortified tower, are the following travel before reaching Briviesca.
After leaving the capital of the ancient pilgrims Bureba passed through Prádanos of Bureba, Castil Pawn, Renaissance Tower and Church of San Pedro, Quintanavides and Monasterio de Rodilla.
The path exceeds the natural barrier of the Compass and reaches Quintanapalla-church of San Esteban, before joining Protomártir, almost at the gates of Burgos, with the current French Way.
