“Agua y roca: Del Ebro a los Obarenes” es un sendero de gran recorrido, de aproximadamente sesenta kilómetros, que une los Montes Obarenes con el río Ebro, o lo que es lo mismo Pancorbo con Miranda de Ebro a través de Encío, Moriana, Ayuelas, Santa Gadea del Cid, Bozoo, Portilla, Villanueva Soportilla, Guinicio, Montañana, Suzana, Orón, Valverde de Miranda, Bugedo y Ameyugo, pequeñas poblaciones que jalonan el camino.

La ruta discurre por pistas forestales, caminos y sendas, permitiendo al visitante disfrutar de una manera cómoda y segura de la gran variedad de paisajes y hábitats que aparecen en esta zona.

Ríos como el Ebro y el Oroncillo y cientos de pequeños arroyos vertebran este territorio. Las riberas y sotos dan vueltas y revueltas junto a los cursos de agua, ofreciendo sombra y verdor al caminante y a la fauna un buen lugar donde refugiarse y buscar alimento.

Algo más alejados de los cauces se asientan amplios bosques de hayas, encinas y quejigos, que albegar espectaculares paisajes de relieves plegados, donde las acciones erosivas han modelado cuevas, cañones y desfiladeros, verdaderos oasis de vida.

La presencia humana en la comarca se remonta a los primeros tiempos de la prehistoria, siendo constante desde entonces, lo que ha generado un rico patrimonio histórico y cultural. Castros, castillos, fortalezas, calzadas, ermitas y necrópolis, son la muestra evidente de un rico pasado.

El sendero “Agua y Roca: Del Ebro a los Obarenes” permite conocer la comarca, disfrutar de su historia, de sus gentes y paisajes, y descubrir algunos de los rincones más bellos y desconocidos de la provincia de Burgos.

El Sendero GR 38 “Ruta del vino y el pescado” que comunica el Cantábrico con la Rioja alavesa, llega al condado de Treviño por el desfiladero del Río Ayuda y pasa por Saéseta, Pariza, Albaina, las Gobas y Laño.

El GR 99  “Camino del Ebro” discurre por el desfiladero del Sobrón y se dirige hacia Miranda de Ebro y la Rioja.

Más de 70 kilómetros separan las poblaciones de Belorado y Neila, que están enlazadas a través del GR 290 “Sendero dos aguas”

El sendero PR-BU 15 “Raíces de Castilla” comunica las históricas localidades de Frias, Oña y Poza de la Sal.
