Fuentemolinos´Cave


 This is a unique Burgos cave in the world, enjoying the beauty and singularity the cave is developed in a mass of calcareous conglomerates deposited during the Oligocene, about 35 million years. This type of rock, formed by many large boulders cemented not favor the formation of caves and less of a length as great as that of Fuentemolinos.

The company Beloaventura ( www.beloaventura.org ) is responsible for organizing the visits, providing complete equipment and facilities necessary security.

The beauty and profusion of training, tours, excentric cast, stalactites, stalagmites and columns, left by the lithogenesis in floors, ceilings and walls, make Fuentemolinos in one of the most important caves of its kind worldwide.

The main feature of this cave is that is excavated in an area of cemented conglomerate of Oligocene limestone grounds.

This is a major geological oddity with its four miles of development, it is the sixth cave in the world in terms of gender.

The moor of Masa

Among the most northern of the Rio Merindad Ubierna and Valle de Sedano extend a desolate and barren rocky flat structures and cool surface, usually windswept north, where you just get more than a sparse root briar bush , thyme, bearberry, lavender and juniper creeping, with some isolated and small forest of oaks, gall oaks and low note.

In this landscape, the continued involvement of the erosion has left only enough land to survive the vegetation gets less demanding. In addition, wind and cold have helped to give the appearance presented by the desolate wasteland for much of the year.
However, with the arrival of spring, these lands are dyed in bright colors, thanks to a valuation of the different plants and the emergence of several varieties of orchids
developed in the area.

Several karst extend across the moor:dry valleys, sinkholes, and multiple gaps uvala Cernégula and Masa, resulting from the outcrop of extensive existing underground aquifers. Caderechas Valley


 It´s situated in the north west of Bureba area.The harmonious mix of wooded areas with large fruit trees, narrow valleys and mountainous terrain configured with an area of outstanding beauty. These towns, which form a geographically between the Valle de Valdivielso, La Lora and La Bureba, maintaining all the flavor of yesteryear and invite calm.

Bureba rooms is the gateway to The burebana Caderechas from the plain. Notable for their interest several manors in the emblazoned shields that look in good condition. From here, water immediately to candida, which is surrounded by orchards.


Coinciding with the cherry blossoms, the Valley of the Caderechas becomes an explosion of white. However, any time is good to visit an area plagued by feelings and enjoy the variety of styles it offers.

The towns of Aguas candida, Patterns of Bureba, Rio-Quintanilla, Hozabejas, Rucandio, Madrid of the Caderechas, Ojeda, Caderechas Herrera, Cantabrana Quintanaopio and form a perfect circuit to get lost and enjoy a quiet and natural beauty are difficult to match.

Rocky Cliffs
One of the most striking aspects of The Caderechas is the opportunity to enjoy at a minimum distance, the serenity of the plains and majestic mountains. Various raptors found shelter among the rocky cliffs surrounding the valley and contribute to increase the variety and options of enjoyment for visitors.

And besides all this, the traditional architecture of The Caderechas-where stone buildings coexist with the buildings on the basis of half-timbered and filled with mud-fits perfectly into the landscape and is an added element to the beauty of a privileged environment.

The Sierra de La Tesla-Valdivielso is a physical set of great beauty. Within this space include, among other locations, Aguas Cándidas, Padrones and Rucandio Bureba. Strolling through the hills is a pleasure and a chance to discover nature at its purest. Vultures. Owls, hen harriers and choughs are some bird species that contribute to reinforce the value of this natural area.

Among the Ebro and the Duero

 Among the rivers of the Rio Merindad Ubierna known for its wealth and development of exactly which names the county, the Ubierna, with 45 kilometers in length, which has its source in the vicinity of mass. Quintanilla was born of the stream that flows into the cave and bathes Quintanarrío, Robredo-Sobresierra and Villalbilla-Sobresierra, where it joins with the Jordan creek, which descends from the T-shirt Hontomín and Gredilla. The river runs through Sotopalacios, which receives input from Rioseras-and continues its journey south, toward the Duero.

As for the Mediterranean side, the main course is the hominid, whose origin is located upstream of Hontomín, near-Sobresierra Quintanilla, and empties into the Duck, a tributary of the Ebro

Fauna
 The extraordinary range of landscapes that make up the Rio Ubierna Merindad also favors the presence of a wide variety of animal species. In the land of the moor are common birds as the snipe, the curlew, the calendar, the Spectacled Warbler, the little bustard or toed lark, among others. Additionally, you can find some copies of Dupont's lark, bustard, buzzard and Montagu's harrier, without forgetting the quail or partridge, corvids like the jackdaw or magpie or ducks in the ponds and Quintanajuar Cernégula.
In the valley, the preponderance corresponds to species that find their habitat in or near aquatic environment. Among fish, native trout can still be traced. Among mammals, you may find some otters. Finally, birds like the dipper and kingfisher found here an ideal place to live.
Finally, in mountain areas live eagles, owls, crag martins, vultures and choughs, among other species. Furthermore, in the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains home to some cats, and wild boar and deer. The latter are also numerous in the area of the torques.

The beech trees of Treviño

 

Among Laño, Obécurri and Bajauri-on the edge of southwest County Treviño-mass extends a thick forest of oaks in the deepest parts of the valleys-and you-and at the high-forest natural continuation of Alava of Ízquiz.

Southwest County Treviño is formed by a large forest area in which there are plenty of Pyrenean oak, with an abundance of examples of large diameter, and the beeches.

It's dense forests are home to a large colony of fauna, among which include birds. Prey like the hawk, eagle owl, tawny owl, hawk, falcon or black kite makes this area an important reserve.


In addition, inhabit the pine forests spotted woodpeckers, marsh and coal picomediano - that the province of Burgos is located only in this area Treviño. Finally, wild boars, otters, genets, dormice gray foxes, badgers and complete the wide range of fauna.


From the vicinity of any of the three people leave many trails that allow penetrate between beech and oak forests and enjoy the magic of nature.

Montes de Miranda de Ebro and Ameyugo are an interesting continuation of Obarenes eastward. At the same time, this municipalities give the area its name, it includes large areas of Bugedo and Pancorbo.From any of the villages located on its slopes can start walking between forest formations, some with steep slopes and final reward with spectacular views.

The Pasture of Puras


 The pasture Puras de Villafranca is a unique landscape in the province of Burgos. Nestled in the mountainous area between the Sierra dela Demanda and Montes de Oca, we are surprised of this pasture, consisting only of spectacular beech, both for its beauty as for its size.

There are few pastures composed only of you, as usual is living with oaks.

It should be noted, also, the variety of animal species that inhabit it, like a falcon, hawk, deer, boar, hawk, badger and mountain cat, along with less known as the dormouse and the coal swamp.

This unique landscape, amazing and generous, inviting us to enjoy a pleasant walk for all seasons, of nature in its purest form.

Location
La Dehesa of the beech is located in Puras de Villafranca, municipality of Belorado. Located in the county Montes de Oca, in the heart of the Sierra de la Demanda.

The Sierra de la Demanda


 South of the road between Burgos and Logroño is the Sierra de la Demanda, an area of great natural beauty and landscape in which the mix of ethnographic interest to the abundance of fauna and flora result in a scenario can offer at each visit new sensations and new surprises.

On the northern slope of the Sierra Demand Avellanosa find locations of Rioja, Eterna, San Miguel de Pedroso and Puras de Villafranca, all belonging to the municipality of Belorado. These are small groups that have remained virtually unchanged over time and live close relationship with the forest, which have traditionally earned their key resources in the form of wood, grazing, hunting, mushrooms and honey.

The Flip River is born south, the Black Pit-glacial lake surrounded by woods, and bathes the Pure land of Villafranca and San Miguel de Pedroso before heading to Rio Cerezo Belorado and Tirón. In its upper course offers the spectacle of rapids and waterfalls.

The vegetation of this area is very rich.It highlights the presence of oak forests, oaks and pines along with some of the more southern beech forests in Europe, specifically in the Villafranaca Eternal Pure. In the Dehesa de Pure beech trees are impressive.

In Eternal, in addition, there is an extensive Acebal, coinciding with the period of fruit maturation, stained a deep red color a large area of Mt. Clearly, this is an area of great variety of mushrooms. Boletus edulis, chanterelles, mushrooms gentleman, umbrellas, mushrooms, oyster mushrooms or silversmiths are some key food species.

But if the generous vegetation, it is no less the stock of wildlife. Mammals such as squirrels, deer, roe deer, wild cat, wild boar and the wolf living with eagles, woodcock, charcoal or gray partridges.And if all this were not enough to justify the visit to the northern slope of the demand, the picture is completed by the ethnographic interest of their peoples.Rioja Avellanosa houses one of the sets of popular architecture major in the province of Burgos, with its wooden framework filled with mud and boulders sockets.

San Miguel de Pedroso, with flour mills, "Eternal and Puras de Villafranca are other fine examples of maintenance and recovery of the ethnographic heritage.

Obarene´s mountains


 The natural park of Montes Obarenes is a real treat for nature lovers.In this space have cataloged 128 species of vertebrates including wild boar, roe deer, wild cats, the imperial eagle and eagle owl. But also, Obarenes contain a wide range of species of flora. But perhaps the greatest luxury for visitors to discover at each step is spectacularly beautiful places in which it appears that the time had stopped for the landscape remained unchanged.

The natural park is home Obarenes mountains in the south face a wide range of interesting elements, both natural and cultural. Bozo Bureba bust, Cascajares of Bureba, Bureba cube, gums, Bureba Neighborhoods, Miraveche, Navas de Bureba, Pancorbo, Quintanaélez, Santa Gadea del Cid, Santa Maria Villanueva de Teba Ribarredonda and part of this territory. This is in many localities if populated since prehistoric times and in other important cities as places of passage of successive civilizations.


The enceuntran Obarenes is in the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains, which constitute its southernmost part.As a great natural breakwater on the flatlands of LA Bureba this relief stands Jurassic structural style bordered on the north to the Ebro River that forms along the wide expanse beautiful and deep gorges.


The gorges carved by the Ebro Sobrón near the gorge of Pancorbo, that throughout history has had important role if natural step towards the plateau - or ravines Valsorda Galera and near-Pancorbo - are good examples of much to the relief of Obarenes offers.

A rich fauna and flora

The natural park is home to 128 species within vertebrate species, of which 29 are mammals. The bobcat, otter, and shrew whiteleg and outrage of the Pyrenees are the most vulnerable, while among the most abundant species include deer and wild boar.

Here are their habitat 76 species of birds, among which are real and Bonelli's eagles, marsh harrier, the griffon vulture, the turtledove, the eagle owl or heron.

In the chapter on flora, many species of trees or shrubs in the area. Beech, oak, oaks, maples and oaks live with Scots pine, Corsican Negrales and also with rowan, juniper, arbutus, heather, gorse, broom thyme or lavender.

Obarenes hide the endless possibilities of enjoyment in touch with nature. In some of the many routes as possible there is also a cultural, historical and heritage added. This is the case of the fortress of Santa Engracia, a building dating from the War of Independence and accessed from Pancorbo. In full ascent to the deck, take a path left wing leading directly to the path that ascends to the top of the fortress.This is an interesting example of military architecture of the early nineteenth century, now converted into a magnificent viewpoint.

Proyecto TRINO

El turismo ornitológico es una modalidad de turismo de naturaleza que consiste en la observación de aves en el medio natural. Como fenómeno turístico tiene una larga tradición internacional y los turistas ornitológicos se desplazan asiduamente a contemplar especies características de cada tipo de hábitat. De esta forma,  se cuentan por millones las personas que practican esta actividad a lo largo de todo el planeta.

Castilla y León posee un gran potencial para la observación de aves puesto que cuenta con una amplia variedad de ecosistemas que le proporcionan una alta diversidad avifaunística, contando con registros de 361 especies de aves, 218 consideradas como nidificantes de las 266 citadas en España.

Con el desarrollo del Proyecto Trino, los Grupos de Acción Local que lo componen pretenden impulsar el turismo ornitológico promoviendo actuaciones de difusión, creación de infraestructuras y concienciación, con el fin de contribuir a un desarrollo rural sostenible en cada una de sus comarcas.

Los establecimientos de turismo rural son sin duda el pilar fundamental sobre el que se asienta el proyecto puesto que su  participación creará una red de alojamientos de calidad para los turistas ornitológicos. A su vez TRINO proporciona la oportunidad de acceso a un  mercado de turismo sostenible de naturaleza con una clara proyección de futuro.

Gorges Territory


About The Bureba nature is capricious and gives a beautiful sight passes.In the County of Treviño is the river Aid, an interesting mix of rocks, waterfalls and woodland which is born in the town of Saseta.

In Obarenes mountains, the gorge of Pancorbo is undoubtedly the best known. Rail, road and highway pass through this narrow passage to the plateau as they once did the successive inhabitants of these lands.


About Pancorbo, gorges de La Galera and other beautiful Valsorda are exponents of the extraordinary work of the patient and consistent nature. And not far away near Bozo, the Ebro describes the beautiful and deep gorges that are known near the town of Alava, Sobrón.


In the Rio Ubierna Merindad spectacular formations can be found such as occurs at the level of Peñahorada or in the nearby town of San Martín de Ubierna.
